Re: foiled terror attempt by Mojahedin khalgh against 2 Canadian citizens, Mustafa Mohammady and Mahbobeh Hamzeh, in Baghdad

Dear Mr. Kenny

I wish to draw your attention to the increasing threat against my parents Mustafa Mohammadi and Mahbobeh Hamzeh, who are currently in Iraq, by the Mojahedin Khalgh Organization, a.k.a. MKO.

My parents travelled to Iraq in November 2007 hoping to find a way to release my sister, Somayeh Mohammadi who has been kept in Camp Ashraf by MKO since 1998, and bring her back to Canada before some irreversible condition endangers her life and separates us for good.

Since their arrival in Iraq and after their first public statement, about their intention of meeting with their daughter , Somayeh Mohammdy ,and uniting our suffering family after almost ten painful years, we have all become targets of despicable public allegations and defamations by the various mouthpieces of MKO. In addition to that from their first visit to the location of American forces in charge of the notorious camp, known as TIPF, there was a physical attempt by the goons of MKO to kidnap my parents at gun point. Though, by the interference of the Americans they did not succeed to carry on with their plan, which was reported to the Canadian Council Ms. Sonia Hooykaas at that time, they never stopped their death campaign against my parents.

The most recent incident took place on February 6, 2008 when the location of my parents’ resident, at Hotel Al- Mansour in Baghdad, was raided by the Iraqi police forces. Though at the beginning my parents were under assumption that they were the target of the raid in total shock and disbelief they realized that they were yet the target of another assassination attempt organized by MKO.

Based on the official police reports, also shared by the Canadian Council and other involved authorities, the two adjacent rooms to theirs were occupied by ten members of Iraqi police forces who were planning to murder them in the quiet of that night. Since this Hotel has a tight security the presence of these forces seemed suspicious to the security forces and they arrested the group of ten by charge of a murder attempt. During the primary investigations three of them were released based on their involuntarily involvement and the other seven confessed to being paid by MKO to carry on the heinous act. Since that date my parents have been moved to an undisclosed location by the authorities and their communication with outside is being closely monitored, if ever any.

As a Canadian citizen I ask you to employ every possible means to protect the life and safety of my parents who are also proud and law abiding Canadian Citizens. I also urge you to expand the responsibility of these crimes to the Canadian chapter of MKO, unfortunately well known to some of our politicians and members of the government, and by imposing limitation on their bold activities inside Canada, prevent any harm from them coming to my family, I have young siblings here in Canada, and stop their harassments towards us. Please help to restore the trust of an ordinary citizen to the system that we empower and relay on in every aspect of our lives.

the Iraqi government since Iraqi authorities told my parents that the documents of the confessions of those involved in the MKO terror plot will be handed to Canadian government , therefore , We request you to ask Canadian government for the copy of documents .

if you have any question please contact me at 416.858.6131
Looking forward to your response.

Sincerely,

Mohammad Mohammady
